Marvel Comics Group's nine-year run of Star Wars comics saw more than its fair share of talented creators weaving the ongoing monthly into the classic series that it is today. The books themselves carried an innocence granted by a largely popular set of films that hadn't yet been bogged down with years of expanded universe continuity.

Unlike most of the Dark Horse comics of today, the Marvel run was geared mostly towards young readers and it showed in the way the storytelling carried out. For the most part, these tales didn't continue longer than two or three issues and always saw all loose ends tied up. Though many of these old tomes were as lighthearted as a Saturday morning cartoon, others shined with such mature undertones that they hold up to this day. It is more than just enjoyable to read these stories; it's 22 pages of the truest nostalgia there is. Held within their covers is the key to the door of childhood, and an escape guaranteed to warm the heart of any of us in the Star Wars Generation.
