Rune Haako was a male Neimoidian official of the Trade Federation and a high ranking member of the Separatist Council. Rune Haako served as Viceroy Nute Gunray's right hand man during the Invasion of Naboo. In Revenge of the Sith, Haako met his untimely end at the hands of Darth Vader on the planet Mustafar, despite his pleas for mercy. In a fun bit of trivia, after filming for The Phantom Menace wrapped, Haako's mask was lost, resulting in the production crew using fellow Neimoidian Daultay Dofine's mask instead. Rune Haako was played by Jerome Blake and voiced by James Taylor in The Phantom Menace. In Attack of the Clones, he was played by Alan Ruscoe and voiced by Chris Truswell, and played by Sandy Thompson in Revenge of the Sith.

The figure shown here was released in 1999 as part of the The Phantom Menace assortment. Rune Haako features basic swivel-articulation in the head, shoulders, and elbows. The figure has lower legs that are attached inside the cloak, but give no real leg articulation to speak of. His lone accessory is a Commtech chip that doubles as a figure stand. The intricate sculpted details of his hat and cloak are very well done, especially for the time period. His paint apps are basic for his clothing, but extra care was given for the face. There is a paint wash application on his face which nicely highlights the sculpted details, and a shiny red paint for his eyes.

Like fellow weirdo Passel Argente, Rune Haako follows the basic fashion rule of most prequel aliens: Weird face with a long, flowing robe. While he appears boring at first glance, a deeper inspection shows the care that was put into his sculpting, and once he is paired with his boss Nute Gunray, Naboo Doesn't stand a chance.
