Whorm Loathsom was a male Kerkoiden general for the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. He served during the Battle of Christophsis. Prior to joining the Separatists, Loathsom had a long history of military service to the planetary defense forces of Kerkoidia. The character made his first and only appearance in 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars film. According to Dave Filoni and writer Henry Gilroy during an interview with TheForce.net, when they were asked if Whorm Loathsom was set to return in some episodes of the series, both Gilroy and Filoni hinted that there was a possibility to bring back him in further seasons. However, plans to bring back Loathsom were not fulfilled before the show's cancellation. Whorm Loathsom was voiced by Corey Burton. The character of Loathsom was based on concept art for a Neimoidian baron trader that was drawn by illustrator and art director Doug Chiang during production for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.

Whorm Loathsom's action figure was released in 2009 as part of the third wave of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars assortment. Whorm has a unique double ball-jointed neck, ball-hinged shoulder and elbows, and swivel articulation in the wrists, waist, and hips. He features a removable collar/shoulder pad, a blaster cannon with projectile missile, and a blaster pistol. Whorm's eyes features 3 separate paint applications which really help them stand out. His head and collar also have extra paint applications which improve his simple color scheme.

While Whorm Loathsom was a one-time villain, his colorful outfit and unique design make him a standout in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars figure collection. Hasbro went the extra mile with his paint apps and made a potentially good figure, great. Click here to see our photo archive entry.
