Ages and ages ago, there was talk of Haden Blackman (author of Jango Fett: Open Seasons and the recent Clone Wars Adventures) writing a comic miniseries that, apart from events in Republic, leads in to Episode 3 and, presumably, resolves some character arcs. Oh, and featuring the awesome art of Brian "Jabiim" Ching. At first it was said to be 10 issues, then it was said to be cancelled, and now it's back on the schedule at five issues. Randy Stradley recently had this to say about the miniseries:
[The story] focuses on the relationship between Obi-Wan and Anakin, and on Obi-Wan's obssession with bringing Ventress Asajj (sic) to justice. It's a direct tie-in to the events in Episode III, and a total action-fest, too boot.
Soon after, Randy confirmed that the series will be titled, appropriately enough, Star Wars: Obsession. Two more pieces of information are worth noting: one, an article in Star Wars Insider a while back mentioned that, with respect to Durge's and Ventress' character arcs, one would ultimately die, and the other would survive, but be changed in some way (hmm...redeemed, possibly?), and later show up in post-III material. Also, Randy says that Anakin and Durge are gonna have a good old-fashioned throwdown. While Ventress will have plenty to do in the meantime between the novel Jedi Trial and the upcoming Republic arc The Dreadnaughts of Rendili, there's a good chance that this may be the only remaining story involving Durge.
All in all, it looks like the last few months of the Clone Wars will be quite busy. We've got Republic focusing (most likely) on Quinlan Vos, Obsession on Ventress and Durge, the third season of Clone Wars on Grievous, and Labyrinth of Evil setting up the movie itself. Here's hoping they can keep everything under control.
