On Saturday, August 30th, the Tampa Bay Rays held their annual Star Wars Night as they battled it out with the Boston Red Sox. Fans who purchased the special Star Wars Night ticket received a very popular limited edition Will Myers Rebel Pilot Bobble Head figure. The 501st and Rebel Legions were on hand to provide fans with an up close and personal look at a large variety of characters from the Star Wars universe as they entered the Rotunda pre-game.

Several characters took a traditional ride around the field and one famous Wookiee even got to throw out the first pitch and pose with a few Tampa Bay Rays players & the umpires!

From there, it was a fun night of baseball mixed with Star Wars characters popping up all over the place throughout the evening on the field, in the stands, in the elevators, and by the concession stands. Darth Vader used his Force abilities to affect the outcome of a foot race during one of the break periods and one Shock Trooper was challenged to a dance-off by a Rebel Pilot! Things didn't go quite as the Shock Trooper planned...

The Force was truly with the Rays as they destroyed the Boston Red Sox 7-0! Another successful Star Wars Night is in the books and we can't wait for the next one. A special thanks to the Tampa Bay Rays for allowing us to cover this event so closely which allowed us to share some great photos with those that couldn't attend in person.
