Though their official LEGO Star Wars Days doesn't start until next week (starting May 31st and ending June 3rd), the LEGOLAND in Germany got their preparations under way early.

Between the 10th and 13th of May LEGOLAND Germany staged a mega build to construct an almost 1:1 scale landspeeder based on 75173 Luke's Landspeeder set.

Attendees of the park were invited to assemble hollow-form building blocks out of 2 x 4 bricks while members of the Master Model Builder team employed by the park got to grips with the instructions.

Over the four days of interactive, public building the 2 by 3.5 metre landspeeder slowly took form on specially constructed display base with a decorative Tatooine-esque backdrop handing behind it.

When finished the final model was composed of nearly four hundred and fifty thousand bricks!

The giant landspeeder will be on show until June 3rd when it will be broken down and put back into the Lars's homestead garage untilit is needed again.
