If you recall our 411 report from last October, we gave you a glimpse into an upcoming wave of figures based on The Battle of Yavin. There were 5 figures to have made up this wave:

  • Death Star Trooper
  • Han Solo
  • Luke Skywalker
  • Rebel Sentry
  • X-Wing Pilot

According to that report, this was to have been the final wave in The Saga Collection, and many fans were eagerly-anticipating news on this wave since it was said to be made of all-new sculpts, and it featured new versions of characters from A New Hope.

Then suddenly, Hasbro announced that the Battle of Naboo wave is the last for 2006 (which of course, we now know is not quite true after all...). So, whatever happened to the wave?

It will be coming out in 2007. According to Hasbro, the wave was pushed for "logistical reasons" (probably because of the 30th anniversary of Star Wars, since it features classic trilogy characters), but those figures will be part of the 2007 line. Probably the third wave.

So there you have it...now stop asking me. I have work to do! ;)

Next September marks the twentieth anniversary of Hasbro's Kenner The Power Of The Force action figure collection. The line introduced a new generation of children to the wonderful world of Star Wars toys and ushered in the modern collectibles we all enjoy today. Our ever-inquisitive Probe Droid is actively searching all corners of the galaxy to find out if there is interest in products that commemorate this very significant 1995 release.
I'd be into a Hasbro The Lost Line style assortment
I'd love to see Gentle Giant make a Jumbo Kenner 1995 Luke Skywalker
I'm behind both of these ideas!
I got started in 1995, but I have no interest in such a concept.
    It isn't for me.
