Longtime Rebelscum reader Jeremy Sniatecki writes in with a cool story about what we might have seen on our favorite Star Wars toys!

"Hi Dan,
In 2005, I was at a design firm that was outsourced to by Hasbro for extra blistercard ideas. Using the (POTC) Sandtrooper blistercard digital files for reference, we were working on concepts for the coming year, with the top secret thing of the little figures that they started packing in, the little blue or red holograms of various characters they were still planning out.

I thought you might enjoy seeing some color portfolio workups based on what was submitted as black and white roughs. I was a big fan of the idea of the character's scenic background behind the figure, like each package has a mini-diorama feel.

Just the past few months, I've been working up some more action figure portfolio-only pieces, and revisited those old black and white concepts to work them up to what I had in mind in color, had they asked us to continue with any of my rough thumbnails. I still need to make some tweaks, but they're still fun to see I figure.

As a long time rebelscum.com reader, I was happy to share this fun "what if" look with my fellow fans."

The behind-the-scenes development is always a lot of fun to see and wonder what might have been. Thanks to Jeremy for sharing this with us!

Truth is, I was going to post this last month, then I got sidetracked. Then I was going through my inbox last week, so I wanted to post it...but it was April Fool's Day, so I thought it might be best not to run it on that day. ;)
