During development for the C-3PO Collector Case Kenner released in 1983, the company tried numerous gold finishes using the Darth Vader case mould in an effort to come up with something that looked good and survived the shipping process. Two verified samples of these test pieces have hit eBay. Follow the above link to have a closer look.
