The key to increasing your child’s reading volume is motivation and these books are aimed at matching your child’s interest. However you aren't going to find these in your school's library as they don't exactly fit the criteria of most schools which makes them ideal for home reading. With regards to reading level these books are ideally suited for ages 4 to 6, and as your child grows up the simplicity of the text and illustrations aren't going to capture their attention.

With that said, these books are aimed at an age group that Son of LEGOscum is right on the cusp of, and since he is an advanced reader he did find them below his actual ability. But being a fan of LEGO Star Wars and a supporter of Rebelscum he soldiered on so that he could share his experiences.

I thought that the books were cool but they were a little young for me. All the illustrations were awesome and there were lots of gags in the story. Some were obvious and some were hidden, but they were a little bit childish though. The books I read covered five of the movies but skipped The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Scholastic really should add the missing two books future movies.
Aimed at capturing a reading group that has just gained momentum, and as part of the levelled reading system that professional educators and children's book publishers around the world have developed, this series of books could very well be the first LEGO Star Wars titles that a youngster reads. Initially developed in 2011, the first two titles were send-ups of the first episodes one and two. After a three year hiatus Scholastic picked up the series again, with the appropriate move names as the titles and have since filled in five of the (currently existing) seven Star Wars movies.
