Comments: For most of his life, the ominous Darth Vader has reached for an ultimate power that he knows to exist but which continues to elude him. Although he has achieved an extraordinarily lethal degree of skill with the Force and is a much-feared commander in the Empire, he continues to burn with a dark ravenous yearning for the power that will satiate the restless hunger within him. A terrible confrontation with his destiny left him horribly scarred and mangled, and it was only by becoming half man, half machine that he continued to survive. Although devoted to the dark side from then on, he still carried within him the remnants of the good-hearted boy he was long ago. After trying to lure his son to the dark side and failing, he and his son== face each other in a final confrontation, and it is and it his son's refusal to end his father's life that re-awakens the long-suppressed spirit of Anakin Skywalker. He is redeemed at last in his own redemption, the fate of the galaxy is also secured.
