After several years without releasing Star Wars products in the 12-inch figure scale, Hasbro returned to the format in 2012 with limited articulation, all-plastic figures which featured a lower price point and few, if any, accessories.

The Hasbro 2013 12-inch Phase I Clone Trooper figure was an exact re-release of the 2012 Episode II Attack of the Clones Phase I Clone Trooper 12-inch figure, with revised packaging graphics to match the reaching/crawling Darth Vader motif emblazoned across the brand that year. This was the final packaging design before the Rebels animated series graphics debuted internationally in 2014. First announced at the 2013 International Toy Fair in New York City, this repackaged Clone Trooper 12-inch figure was released in the U.S. in the early Summer of that same year for a suggested retail price of $9.99. Points of articulation include swivel joints at the neck, hips, wrists, and shoulders. The handle of the DC-15 blaster accessory is molded to the figure's right-hand, and cannot be removed.
