In some ways the 2016 International Toy Fair mirrored last year's trade show, but with us moving into our second year of Disney's new marketing plan for Star Wars, we knew there wouldn't be as much revealed as there was in previous years. Non Disclosure agreements were once again signed, lips were tightly sealed, and products related to Rogue One were hidden behind closed doors.

BLUFIN DISTRIBUTION
Two Japanese Lines See Exciting New Additions For North American Audiences!

Bluefin Distribution had new figures and collectibles on display including the the Taikoyaku Stormtrooper from the awesome Meisho Movie Realization action figure line from Tamashii Nations and a ton of new additions to Beast Kingdom's Egg Attack line, which is clearly moving into the repaint friendly Clone Trooper direction. While that is anything but exciting for people working on a photo archive, history has proven that many collectors love giant Clone armies. In addition to the figures, we also go our first unperson look at their incredible Floating Egg Millennium Falcon.

BRAINSTORM
Politely Telling You To Go Fly A Kite...

Brainstorm's Star Wars designs focused almost exclusively on the original trilogy and The Force Awakens. The only item that had a nod to the prequels was their flying R2-D2 kite.

CARTAMUNDI
The Belgium Company Hellbent On Carding The Force

With over a decade of aggressively acquiring their competition, Cartamundi has become a juggernaut in their field. In the last year they penned a five year deal with Hasbro to produce any of their boardgames. Of course, you likely only care about their new Star Wars items. In their booth at the 2016 International Toy Fair, Cartamundi displayed a few new items in The Force Awakens packaging including the Playing Card Collector's Set, the Villains Playing Cards in [First Order] Stormtrooper helmet container, and five unique Playing Cards packs. In addition, they had also had a standee indicating they are going to be producing products themed to the upcoming Rogue One feature film.

FANTASY FLIGHT GAMES
The Ultimate Star Wars Vehicle Collection Expands!

This year's display at the Fantasy Fight Games booth wasn't as vast as we've seen in years past, but they brought it home with some great new additions including the very first scaled set based on the Rebels Phantom and Ghost (ever released by any licensee), the Tantine IV, Mist Hunter, Punishing One, Inquisitor's TIE Advance expansion sets and The Force Awakens X-Wing Miniatures Game core set with a blue T-70 X-Wing Fighter and two First TIE Fighters.

FUNKO
The POP! Fun Continues With The Force Awakens

Year after year Funko continues to overwhelm with a wide selection of products featuring every license under the sun. For their Star Wars items, they had a large selection of The Force Awakens POP! figures including Rey, Finn, Kylo Renn, BB-8, Chewbacca, Poe Dameron, C-3PO, Captain Phasma, First Order Stormtrooper (all of which have can be found anywhere), Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, Admiral Akbar, Nien Nunb, Sidon Ithano, and First Order TIE Pilot. Also displayed were the Jumbo Shogun Boba Fett, a small selection of Hikari Japanese Vinyl figures, many Fabrications, patches, pins, as well as POP! pens and ceramic mugs.

HASBRO
The Force Awakens And Rebels Display

While not as limited as their display the year before, Hasbro was still left in a position where they couldn't display too much of their upcoming product line in their showroom at the 2016 International Toy Fair, but that didn't stop them from revealing some new action figure toys. The Force Awakens section of their display included our first look at the Rebels Ezra Bridger's Speeder, Princess Leia Organa, Kanan Jarrus in Stormtrooper Disguise, Season 2 Sabine Wren with removable helmet, Darth Maul, Seventh Sister, and a new Kylo Ren action figure.

The Black Series Display

The Black Series section of the Hasbro display included our first looks at the 6-inch AT-AT Driver, fan choice Darth Nihilus, Snow Trooper, Sabine Wren, The Force Awakens C-3PO, A New Hope Princess Leia Organa, and production A New Hope Luke Skywalker and Kanan Jarrus figures. Also shown were the upcoming The Force Awakens influenced Trivial Pursuit game.

Everything Else In The Hasbro Showroom

For The Black Series section of Hasbro's display, we had our first look at the 6-inch AT-AT Driver, Sabine Wren, A New Hope Princess Leia Organa, The Force Awakens C-3PO, the fan chosen Darth Nihilus, Snowtrooper, as well as the second evolution (production?) of the A New Hope Luke Skywalker and Kanan Jarrus action figures and The Black Series Star Wars Trivial Pursuit.

Hasbro Presentation

Also on display in the Hasbro showroom Takodana Encounter four pack that encourages collectors to fork over for a set that includes for three action figures they already own in order to acquire the set's exclusive Maz Kanata with Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber housing crate of treasures, along with many new 12-inch scale Titan figures including Rey, BB-8, and R2-D2, 6-inch scale Hero Mashers figures including Agent Kallus, Ezra Bridger, Captain Rex (), and Fifth Brother figures, the first appearance of the Rey piece in the revised Star Wars Monopoly, the awesome Galactic Heroes The Force Awakens and Rebels additions!

IMPERIAL
Is That A Silver R2-D2 Bubble Maker?

The Imperial booth made us drool with their limited edition chrome R2-D2 bubble maker. This extremely production variation is limited to only 25 pieces, and representatives at the booth were mum on the details. We want it, and we're betting you do too. In addition, they were offering press and buyers special limited edition blue Lightsaber bubble makers following their 2015 red Lightsabers.

JAKKS PACIFIC
More Large Size Star Wars Goodness!

JAKKS Pacific gave us our first look at their The Force Awakens Rey, Finn in Stormtrooper armor, and C-3PO 18-inch figures as well as the deluxe BB-8 with flip out bird-giving flamer arm.

KOTOBUKIYA
Who Doesn't Want A Sample From The BB-8 Display?

Kotobukiya displayed the revised paint master of their ARTFX+ Captain Phasma along with the paint master ARTFX+ Kylo Ren model kit statues for the first time at Toy Fair. As amazing both of these pieces are (and they really are amazing), it was the BB-8 ice cube samples on display that stole the show. In fact, these were so popular that they were the topic of more conversations with peers than any other Star Wars item displayed over the entire trade show!

REVELL
The Force Awakens With Revell Models

Last year they displayed blank boxes and could only tell us they had models coming based on The Force Awakens, but for their display at the 2016 International Toy Fair, Revell had them all on display. While technically models, these new sets are made from a more durable plastic for the kids (and adults) that want to play with them. Following the trend they started the year earlier, they had three mystery boxes as place holders for three new kits that will come out in September as part of the Rogue One Force Friday event.

SURREAL ENTERTAINMENT
More Cups At Toy Fair

There wasn't a lot of Star Wars items on display at the Surreal Entertainment booth, but if you are overwhelmed with what will house your morning caffeine intake, you'll want to see what they are offering for Star Warriors in 2016.
