COMMENTS
This issue concludes the official four issue adaptation of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

As with many film adaptations, this particular issue has a scene not included in the final film including Obi-Wan's visit to Padmé, and Yoda actually speaking to Qui-Gon's spirit. One other was included on the DVD and is Yoda's arrival on Dagobah.
SYNOPSIS
Chancellor Palpatine addresses the Senate to many cheers, that the war is over and he will continue to rule this new Empire as the Sovereign ruler. Padmé and Bail are shocked that this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause.

Obi-Wan and Yoda dismantle the Jedi Temple beacon signal and discover footage of Anakin slaughtering Jedi, and pledging his loyalty to Palpatine. Obi-Wan feels he cannot kill Anakin, and is terribly distressed, but Yoda convinces him the need for it. He is no longer Anakin, but Darth Vader.

Obi-Wan visits Padmé to tell her what he knows. She can't believe it. He apologizes, but it's a hollow gesture. As he leaves he stows away on her starship, hoping she will take him to Anakin.

Yoda confronts Palpatine in his Senate ready room and the two begin to fight one last time. On Mustafar Padmé finds Anakin and is a little distressed by what she has heard from Obi-Wan. Anakin becomes angered that she was talking to his former Master and swears that they can conquer Palpatine and rule the galaxy together.

Obi-Wan decides to show himself. Anakin screams at Padmé that she has betrayed him and Force chokes her, throws her against a wall, and knocks her unconscious. The two former friends argue before Anakin declares that they are now enemies as they strike lightsabers.

Yoda and Palpatine continue their fight into the Senate, while back on Mustafar Anakin and Obi-Wan's fight begins to heat up.

Yoda escapes into Bail's speeder, seeing no way to win this fight. Meanwhile Obi-Wan and Anakin continue their fight over rivers of lava, through them and finally onto the shore of a molten river. Anakin leaps at Obi-Wan who manages to slice off his legs and an arm. He leaves Anakin, unable to kill him, on the edge of a lava flow. The heat from the molten rock begins to consume him.

Palpatine's shuttle lands as Kenobi departs. He is able to rescue his new apprentice. While on the remote asteroid station of Polis Massa, Yoda is communicating through the Force with his former apprentice Qui-Gon Jinn about the ability of the Force to grant eternal life.

Obi-Wan has brought Padmé to the medical facility where they are able to deliver her twins: Luke and Leia. But she is weak and tells Obi-Wan that there is still good in Anakin before she passes. Obi-Wan, Yoda and Bail agree that the twins need to be separated and the two remaining Jedi need to go into hiding to bide their time. Bail's final comment is to remit Padmé's droids to Captain Antilles and order a memory wipe for C-3PO.

Back on Coruscant, Palpatine has taken his apprentice to his own medical facility where he has been reassembled with new body. Vader awakens wondering where his wife is, and Palpatine has no problems telling him that Vader killed her on Mustafar. Darth Vader erupts from the operating table in a fit of rage, much to the Emperor's delight.

On Dagobah, Yoda survey's the landscape of his new home in exile. In space Vader, the Emperor and Governor Tarkin survey their newest creation, a Death Star. Bail and his wife enjoy their new daughter, Leia in the beauty of Alderaan. And finally Kenobi delivers a young Luke to his new guardians on Tatooine.
