We received word from several readers over the weekend that Amazon.com as begun canceling outstanding orders for the shared exclusive TRU/Amazon Clone Wars Gunship. No mention was made regarding the impending split between Amazon and Toys 'R' Us, but it is assumed to be the cause of the cancellations. Here's what Amazon customers have been receiving:

Hello from Amazon.com.

We are sorry to report that we will not be able to obtain the following item from your order:

"Star Wars Clone Wars Gunship"

Though we had expected to be able to send this item to you, we've since found that it is not available from any of our sources at this time. We realize this is disappointing news to hear, and we apologize for the inconvenience we have caused you.

We have cancelled this item from your order.

Note: If you took advantage of an Amazon.com or Toysrus.com promotional offer when placing this order, this cancellation may affect your order's eligibility for that offer. If this is the case, please contact customer service; if we confirm your original order was eligible, we'll reimburse you for the value of the promotional discount. However, we can't reimburse you for rebates offered by manufacturers or by Amazon.com.

Your credit card will NOT BE CHARGED for this item because you only pay for items when we ship them to you.

Your order is now closed.

At this time it is still not known if Toys 'R' Us has saved the customer information and plans to honor these orders, or just plans to make the item available on their new site to re-order, but we will post that fact as soon as it is known. In the meantime, fans looking to add this toy to their collections may want to start hitting their local TRU stores, just in case...

Happy Hunting!
