Hero Gaffi Stick™ Prop Replica – Signature Edition
$1999.00

Reserve yours on February 15th at 12PM eastern time

This 1:1 prop replica is based on the hero-style Tusken Raider™ Gaffi Stick™ seen in Star Wars: A New Hope™. Also called a Gaferffii™, this signature edition is part of our Star Wars™ Archive Collection, a continuation and expansion of our work creating authentic replicas with impeccable lineage.

With hands-on access to the original film prop artifacts and high resolution 3D scanning, our team crafted a faithful recreation of the original props from the film, capturing the unique asymmetry, hand-carved look and intentionally crude welding.

With masters created using that technology, our team solid-cast heavy polyurethane resin for the “wood” portion of the Gaderffii club, just like the original props. That section is painted and hand stained with a hint of woodgrain. The metal tube and fins are welded steel with a cast metal spike and layers of hand aging and distressing.

An elegant black wood stand supports the prop for table-top display. This special signature edition also includes a plaque hand-signed by Roger Christian, who built the prop for the 1977 film.

Each of the 150 pieces in this limited, signature edition will be made and hand finished in the U.S.A.

The Archive Collection - Recreating an Artifact

“Roger Christian’s official title on Star Wars: A New Hope was set decorator, but he’d go on to build quite a few of the most iconic props in the Star Wars galaxy. We’ve spent an extraordinary amount of time with those artifacts and it’s thrilling to me that we get to share these with fans and collectors. From measurements and color matching, to the high-tech wizardry of the 3D scanning, we used every tool we could to make our recreation as faithful as we could to the look and details of these iconic originals.

Along the way, there are always discoveries made, and this was no different. The original Gaffi Stick props were based on a Fijian Totokia. That’s old news to many prop fans, but the interesting thing was the actual prop from Star Wars was resin rather than wood, which certainly makes sense from a production standpoint. Further, the prop had been altered slightly since 1977. The point of the totokia section had broken and was filed and reshaped to a new, shorter point.

We discovered the Rancor Keeper™ style gaffi stick from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™ was also among the artifacts from the production, and those had come from the same castings, but with the original point intact. We digitally scanned that prop and used it to transplant the proper hero spike seen on screen when the Tusken Raiders attack Luke Skywalker™.

That digital work was just part of the process and from molding with silicone and resin to welding and metal casting, to faux aging and hand paint, we used all the skills of our FX artists to recreate these amazing props for this very limited signature edition!”

The Mandalorian™ Tusken Raider™ Gaffi Stick™ Prop Replica
$1399.00

This 1:1 prop replica is based on the unique Tusken Raider™ Gaffi Sticks™ primarily seen in The Mandalorian™. Also called a Gaferffii™, this limited, numbered edition is part of our Star Wars™ Archive Collection, a continuation and expansion of our work creating authentic replicas with impeccable lineage.

The faux wood section of this gaffi stick (based on a Fijian “totokia” club) was mastered directly from the same molds as the props in the series. For this edition, we’ve also recreated the faux-metal spike end (originally provided by the production). The solid-resin prop replicas are made in the U.S.A. and are authentic recreations of the props wielded by the Tusken Raiders in Seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian.

The polyurethane resin props are all painted and hand-stained with a hint of woodgrain and a multi-layered faux metal spike. An elegant black wood stand supports the heavy prop for table-top display.

Each of the 150 pieces in this limited edition will be made and hand finished in the U.S.A.

The Archive Collection - Recreating an Artifact

“The Tusken Raiders endure… and so do their gaffi sticks! Decades after their introduction to the Star Wars mythos, they’ve been featured again and again in new styles in the various films and series. During the production of The Mandalorian, our studio was called upon to craft a number of props, masks and monsters. One of those calls was for a pair of “totokia” replicas, the ancient Fijian warclub that Roger Christian used to build the Gaderffii™ in Star Wars: A New Hope.

These unique creations were not direct replicas of the first film clubs. Combined with a faux-metal spike end provided by the production, a new variation of gaffi stick was seen on screen in the hit series! In fact, these props would be seen wielded (and even used as Bantha™ tooth-picks!) by Tusken Raiders in Seasons 1 and 2 of The Mandalorian as well as in the hands of background Tusken Raiders in The Book of Boba Fett™.

Using the same totokia mold and detailed reference from the show props, we’re proud to present this new replica with wonderful lineage. It’s always an incredible thrill to see our work on screen, and it’s equally exciting to share that work. We look forward to seeing it in the homes of fans and collectors everywhere!”
