  • Comments: At this year’s convention, we are celebrating a gathering of fans from all over Mexico and abroad to share the impressive power the Force. Star Wars Encuentros is about meeting people, having fun with them, competing against them at times, but always sharing the excitement together. This special two-pack commemorates another encounter, that of Luke Skywalker and the powerful Jedi Master Yoda. That encounter reminds us that in order to reach our goals, sometimes we need sound advice from someone wiser than us, and that we should not prejudge others based on physical appearance or other outward traits.

Luke Skywalker: After barely surviving a near-fatal encounter on ice planet Hoth, Luke Skywalker, a Jedi in training, was directed by the spirit of Obi-Wan Kenobi to the Dagobah system in search of a great Jedi Master, one who had taught Kenobi the ways of the Force. Luke arrived on the swamp planet in search of an all-powerful warrior. Instead, he and his loyal droid R2-D2 encountered a minuscule, and mischievous green creature who promised to help him find the Jedi Master he sought. Luke decided to follow the small green being, unaware of the big surprise that awaited him.

Yoda: When Jedi Master Yoda met Luke Skywalker, he immediately sensed the problems ahead. After hundreds of years training Jedi, Yoda recognized that Luke was stubborn, impetuous-and really too old to be trained. But the fate of the galaxy was at stake and extreme measures had to be taken in order to free it from the evil of the Emperor. Yoda accepted the fact that he had no choice but to train Luke, as only a fully-trained Jedi would be able to end the darkness. And yet, if Luke should fail the rigorous demands put upon him, Yoda knew that there was still another hope.

Moving into our nineteenth year of shooting Star Wars collectibles, we pause for a moment to consider legacy. Our photography is obviously recognizable because of the blue background, but looking further back, especially after we published The Man Who Shot Luke Skywalker galleries last December, we've put our minds to offering more classic Kenner backgrounds to our galleries. Follow this link to have a look and then let us know if you'd like to continue to explore this train of thought.
Focus on the Rebelscum legacy and keep it blue.
I love the nod to Kenner's history. I'd love to see Rebelscum embrace a more colourful vision.
