The second generation Delta-7 Jedi starfighter incorporated many of the modifications Anakin made to his original craft, boosting acceleration and maneuvering capability. The droid socket was also moved to a more central location to eliminate a slight inertia problem and allow the droid easier access to more of the ship. Anakin continued to tinker with his, boosting the output of his laser cannons, and overclocking the engines to make his starfighter the fastest ship in the Republic fleet.
