Once Alliance engineers perfected the combat and environmental refit of the civilian T-47 airspeeder on Hoth, modifying similar speeders to other extreme planets became simple. As workarounds and techniques filtered throughout the Rebel data network, the T-47 became a common display of Alliance airpower, especially against Imperial armored infantry. Worlds on which the Rebellion had previously been forced underground by seemingly invincible Imperial walkers suddenly exploded into open war. Though no force in the galaxy could stand against the full might of the Imperial army, the modified airspeeder gave the Rebels an undeniable edge.
