Delivering clone trooper squads from orbit to the thick of battle is the Republic Attack Shuttle. Heavily armored to withstand an orbital descent through enemy fire from both space and land forces, this shuttle is most often used to deliver special forces squads - often under the command of a Jedi - directly behind enemy lines. Armed to defend itself mostly against aerial attacks, it lacks the heavy weaponry of the gunships typically used for in-atmosphere troop transport, but can be a formidable opponent for starfighters and repulsorlift vehicles.
