This Lambda-class shuttle is used for transporting Imperial cargo and personnel. Just before the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance manages to steal a small Imperial shuttle named Tydirium. Seeking permission to land on the forest moon of Endor, the Tydirium crew enters an older but still valid clearance code. This risky maneuver helps alert the Empire to their presence.
