Retail stores are starting to get a jump on the official January 30th release date, and new toys with the Darth Maul packaging are showing up pretty much everywhere. I spotted a few items today while at lunch, and here are a few "new" items that are about to dominate the toy shelf space. The new style electronic "helmets" (really, masks) are out with voice effects (more lines that Maul said in the entire film!), the new role play weapons (lightsabers, blasters), and the new exclusive action figure 2-packs that include 2 repainted/repackaged figures (these are $14.99 each). Let the onslaught begin!

Word has come in that although the new 2012 Hasbro toys have a printed warning that toys should not be sold until January 30th, Hasbro has (wisely) decided to lift that ban. Both retail stores and online dealers can put all new Star Wars products on sale immediately. Orders should start arriving this week.
UPDATE: Hasbro has contacted me to let me know that the street date is in fact still in effect for all countries except for the UK, where the source for the original posting originated from. Look for the new toys to officially put on sale in a few weeks.

Poll
George Lucas has announced he's done making blockbuster feature films after Indiana Jones 5. He states that one of the factors that weighted heavy on the decision was the negative comments made by fans. The Probe Droid is curious what you think about that.
We didn't mean it! Please make more movies!
Boo. I don't like that at all. More movies please.
We got six movies that tell the full tale. I'm happy.
Good for you George! You've earned it.
Thank goodness!
I don't see the irony here.
