Yoda Lightsaber Developmental Prototype Set

Source: (Attack of the Clones)

Year: 2003

Assortment: Prop Replica

Final Auction Price: $6,599.99

Production Sequence: Limited to 1 set

Comments: Each prototype is representative of one phase of the three-phase design process that Master Replicas artisans used to develop the Yoda Lightsaber in collaboration with Lucasfilm Licensing Ltd. The set includes:

Phase I: Hand-Machined Prototype

This hand-machined metal prototype of the Yoda Lightsaber is one of two created by Master Replicas designers using original drawings of the prop provided by Lucasfilm for reference.

Phase II: SLA Prototype

Only one Stereo-lithographic Apparatus (SLA) prototype was created for the Yoda lightsaber. This SLA prototype was used by the toolmaker to create patterns and molds for the first-shot prototypes and subsequent production pieces of the Yoda Lightsaber.

Phase III: First-Shot Prototype

There were only five first-shots prototypes created for the Yoda lightsaber. A first-shot prototype is an initial sample produced by the manufacturer using the final production tooling and molds. This prototype was reviewed by the designers and the Lucasfilm team for faithfulness to the design prior to full-scale production of the final prop replicas.
