    In space and on the ground, the clone trooper army provides the main support for the Republic forces. Some clone troopers receive special training to become pilots for the Republic’s attack gunships, V-19 Torrent starfighters, V-wing fighters, ARC-170 starfighters and others. On the ground, clone tank gunners operate the cannons on AT-TE armored assault vehicles, blasting the droid army with unrelenting cannon fire.
