LEGO

LEGO previews their fantastic Episode II offerings at Toy Fair with a few sets and the introduction of the new Star Wars Writing System. Here's a rundown of the new AOTC sets:

Republic Gunship (7163): Easily the centerpiece of the new assortment, the Gunship was displayed with 3 Clonetroopers, 1 Super Battle Droid, 2 Destroyer Droids, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker. (686 pieces, $89.99)

Jedi Duel (7103): Comes with Count Dooku and Yoda. Having the little Jedi Master as a LEGO mini figure makes this set in my opinion. (81 pieces, $9.99)

Tusken Raider Encounter (7113): Now what is Anakin doing with 2 Tusken Raiders…hmmmm (90 pieces, $9.99)

Bounty Hunter Pursuit (7133): Includes Zam Wessell, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Anakin Skywalker minifigures, (253 pieces, $29.99)

Slave I (7153): Comes with Jango Fett and little Boba Fett. (358 pieces, $49.99)

Jedi Starfighter (7143): LEGO will offer this vehicle a Sneak Preview due out in March. Includes Obi-Wan Kenobi minifigure. (138 pieces, $19.99)

TECHNIC Jango Fett (8011): EP2's Bounty Hunter stands tall! (433 pieces, $29.99)

TECHNIC Super Battle Droid (8012): Intimidating and menacing is AOTC's latest mechanized baddie. (381 pieces, $34.99)

The new LEGO Star Wars Writing System makes their debut with 6 new pens based on Classic Trilogy and AOTC characters. Inside theses cool pens are actual LEGO minifigures! The characters available are Anakin Skywalker, Jango Fett, Clonetrooper, Darth Vader, C-3P0, and R2-D2. The pens are made for LEGO by The CDM Company and retails for about $15 each. They come with a stylized carrying case and ten different beads for play and customization and are set for release this Spring. Next September marks the twentieth anniversary of Hasbro's Kenner The Power Of The Force action figure collection. The line introduced a new generation of children to the wonderful world of Star Wars toys and ushered in the modern collectibles we all enjoy today. Our ever-inquisitive Probe Droid is actively searching all corners of the galaxy to find out if there is interest in products that commemorate this very significant 1995 release.
I'd be into a Hasbro The Lost Line style assortment
I'd love to see Gentle Giant make a Jumbo Kenner 1995 Luke Skywalker
I'm behind both of these ideas!
I got started in 1995, but I have no interest in such a concept.
It isn't for me.
