Wizard World 2002: Hasbro Deluxe Figures

Wizard World gets treated with the first showing of the new Anakin Skywalker with flipping action and the very cool Flying Geonosian Warrior with the much desired sonic blaster and what looks to be a Geonosian hive with suction cup. The hive accessory is designed to be attached to the upcoming Arena playset. Hasbro tells us that the sonic blaster was a later addition to the film, which is the reason it didn't come out until now. They actually began work on this figure with initial concept art rather than Lucasfilm archive reference photos. The sample shown is an early prototype. The production figure's sonic blast will have clear plastic. Anakin, who is the third "flipping" Deluxe figure in the Saga line comes with a packed in panel that interconnects with the other two.

Added on Saturday afternoon are samples of the new Deluxe Yoda with Force Powers and C-3PO. Yoda comes with a crane and Super Battle Droid, who has the hapless role of being mean green's practice dummy. C-3PO trades parts with a Battle Droid to strike fear on Jedi dogs..well, not really, but it's a pretty darned sight. The toy also has a cross-over feature with the new Arena Playset. The packed in assembly unit connects with the one included with the playset.

The new 75159 UCS Death Star has been announced and it's 99.5% re-release of a set, at an additional $100, that was only retired less than 12 months ago. How do you feel about this addition to the LEGO Star Wars line?
Ecstatic: it's LEGO Star Wars after all!
Great: I didn't get a chance to buy 10188.
Fair to middling: I like to build and it has some nice new additions.
meh: the UCS range is meant to be special.
Harrumph: 10188 is cheaper on eBay.
Fuming: abject failure in market research and imagination.
