The Convention: Day 3
Day 3 of the convention started in a very special way for some lucky Mexican Fan Club members. The day before, several names were drawn for the Fan Club breakfast and the winning names all had breakfast with the VIP attendees. It was clear that this was a very special event for those who were able to participate.

Once again all the great events planned by the Fan Club were open for all the attendees on Sunday and the only real difference between this and the other two days were the presentations given.

Daniel Velazco Modeling the Galaxy: The Star Wars Models

Paul Rudish The Creation of the Clone Wars

James Gallo Ewoks and Droids Collectibles

From this Canadians perspective, Encuentros 2004 was a resounding success and it was a little sad to see the weekend come to a close. The fans in Mexico exude an incredible amount of enthusiasm and passion for all aspects of the Star Wars galaxy; its a feeling that Ive not experienced at any other convention in North America. I met a lot of great people during my time at Encuentros and while many of the people I met were pleased to meet a Rebelscum staff member, it truly was I who was pleased to meet the Mexican Star Wars fans. Never have I had such a warm welcome and experienced such hospitality than I did this weekend and from the bottom of my heart, Id like to thank the Mexican fans for making this a truly memorable weekend. With luck, Ill see all of you again next year!

Id also like to send out a special thanks to Oscar Fernandez, the President of the Mexican Fan Club for the hospitality and for putting on a great convention. Extra thanks go out to Luis and Josefina Galvez, my good friends who went above and beyond in ensuring that all of us had a good time and were taken care of properly. Thank you all.

Next September marks the twentieth anniversary of Hasbro's Kenner The Power Of The Force action figure collection. The line introduced a new generation of children to the wonderful world of Star Wars toys and ushered in the modern collectibles we all enjoy today. Our ever-inquisitive Probe Droid is actively searching all corners of the galaxy to find out if there is interest in products that commemorate this very significant 1995 release.
I'd be into a Hasbro The Lost Line style assortment
I'd love to see Gentle Giant make a Jumbo Kenner 1995 Luke Skywalker
I'm behind both of these ideas!
I got started in 1995, but I have no interest in such a concept.
It isn't for me.
