COMMENTS
There are a number of references to the previous 'history' of Boba Fett in this series. He had previously been established as being Jaster Mereel, a journeyman protector from Concord Dawn. Since Episode II was released this is obviously contradicted, but it has been chalked up in-universe as further mystery surrounding the bounty hunter, as he wears elements of Jaster's armor, passed down from Jango. As in all the previous stories regarding Boba Fett, where his face is never revealed, the same is true for Jaster Mereel in this series, except on his death bed.

This index assumes that the planet that Dooku's fortress is located on is one of Bogden's moons, per Jango's comment in Attack of the Clones regarding his place of recruitment for the clone project.

A reference to Galidraan is misspelled as Galidran in this issue.
SYNOPSIS
On Bogden's moon, in the fortress of Count Dooku, the Count enters a torture room that contains a battered and beaten Mandalorian warrior, Silas. Dooku want him to tell him everything he knows about Jango Fett.

After Silas' story is complete, he swears it's the truth. Dooku doesn't doubt him, and then orders his interrogation droids to stop his heart. Silas asks him not tell Jango about this. Dooku says he cannot make any promises.

SYNOPSIS
Silas relates the events from twenty years previous, when he was assigned to Jango's squad on a extraction mission on Korda Six. Jaster wishes Jango good luck, but Montross tells him not to forget that he is not really Jaster's son.

The Mandalorians exit hyperspace above Korda Six and deploy their ships through heavy ion cannon fire. Jango's ship is hit but he is able to land it safely. As they deploy from the rear of their ship at least three Mandalorians are gunned down by heavy fire. Jaster orders the squads to regroup on Jango's position in the trenches, but Montross ignores orders and takes on the hostile Kordans. Jaster tackles Montross to avoid being blown up by a grenade, while Jango and his squad go after their primary target, rescuing some rookie security force.

They are ambushed instead, by Death Watch troops. Jango and company use their blasters and flame throwers to escape, looking for Vizsla. Jaster tells him that it isn't necessary, because he just showed up on the battlefield in a tank. Vizsla open fire on Jaster and Montross, bitter for being left to die on Concord Dawn. Instead of helping Jaster, Montross turns and runs. Jaster is gunned down by Vizsla, and Jango would have suffered the same fate if Silas hadn't tackled him. Jango apologizes to Jaster for not protecting him as he dies.

Montross order the squads to take off, telling them Jango died trying to save Jaster. Jango appears carrying Jaster's dead body. He takes command, telling Montross that he is not fit to lead them after leaving Jaster on the battlefield. Jango then became the new leader of the Mandalorians.
