While advertised as a Trade Paperback, this is actually a large format paperback book, the same size as the Essential Guide series (Del Rey).
It is divided into five sections which include Heroes and Allies, Villains and Rogues, The Jedi, Spaceships, and The Worlds of Star Wars. There is also an extensive index of the artists contained in the book plus the Dark Horse Star Wars timeline.
Each section focuses on artwork from the 13 year publishing career at Dark Horse. These include cover art, panel art and other art produced for the comics.
A frontpiece created by Tsuneo Sanda for the Star Wars 25th Anniversary (and used again for the Dark Horse/FYE Sith DVD giveaway) presents "The Heroes of Star Wars".
