Point of Purchase (POP) displays have long been a favorite of many collectors. How cool is it to not only have Star Wars memorabilia, but to display them in a Star Wars shelf too!
Most movie displays are snatched up by employees or simply thrown away. I don't know how many times I've enquired about a store display, only to be told that they "had to return it to the factory" or some such story. I smile politely, and know that the majority of times this really means "the manager already has his name on it". Ah, well; it never hurts to ask, and sometimes you DO get lucky and get a call months later to pick up a used display. What a thrill!
But an even bigger thrill is getting those displays BEFORE they are unpacked and used. Pristine condition displays are even rarer, and many collectors will only settle for these unscathed collectibles.
