It seems that Cartoon Network's Euro press department has gone into overdrive, because this past week has loads of news about the series' European fate. Here's a round up of what's going on:
Cartoon Network will be airing the Clone Wars mini-series in Italy this winter through
Cartoon Network Italia. Beginning November 10th each programme will be shown with an Italian soundtrack at 5pm CET daily.
A Portugese language version has also been reported by
Conselho Jedi Rio de Janeiro (The Jedi Council of Rio de Janeiro) - a Brazillian
Star Wars news site - which leads to hope that the mini-series will be broadcast in Portugal.
The UK has been seeing press and street advertising promoting the Clone Wars mini-series for the past couple of weeks, but this weekend Toonami aired the first footage. You can download the 2.9 Mb footage, care of Blackout and TheForce.Net,
here.
Scandanavian readers need not feel left out, because
Star Wars Nordic have posted news that Cartoon Network Nordic will be showing the cartoons in
Sweden,
Norway and, as previously
reported, Denmark. The series will start on November 10th and go out at 5pm CET.
It is worth noting that the UK air time is 4pm GMT and the European air time is 5pm CET. Given that central Europe is one hour ahead of the UK it would seem that everyone in Europe will be watching the Clone Wars mini-series all at the same time.
Finally, Toon Zone reports that Cartoon Network has released a electronic press kit, which includes a behind-the-scenes look at the creation and production of the series, as well as clips from the first five episodes. Pop over to
this thread in their forums for a look. Spoiler avoiders be aware.
