Hasbro Hints At Future Plans
Posted by Curto on July 23, 2004 at 01:07 PM CST:
The Original Trilogy Collection has been well-received by fans, despite the plethora of repacks and repaints in the line. While this was an easy way to get characters out to the fans who are new to the hobby, or perhaps did not collect the earlier releases, Hasbro wants to get back to all-new figures and toys. The 38 (Not counting the exclusive Emperor (Executor Transmission) figure) basic figures that have been announced for the OTC will be the extent of the line, and as we've seen already, several of the repacked figures have been repainted to make them stand on their own.

Following the OTC, there will be a transition series that will bridge the OTC line and 2005's Episode III line. While it has not yet been revealed just which figures will be a part of this line, several rumors have been floating around about a Coruscant wave and a sneak preview wave packaged on OTC styled cards -- minus the OTC logo of course. Expect these rumors to be addressed very soon.

More details are expected later today during the Q&A session. Also expected to make an appearance is the Jawa Sandcrawler, new Unleashed figures, and a certain 12" Wookiee....
