The Star Wars summer exclusives are here! When convention season comes around, you know it's time for some fun exclusives from Hasbro. This year is no exception, and there are not one, not two, but three exclusive 2-packs that are hitting the conventions this year.

SAN DIEGO COMIC CON EXCLUSIVE COMIC PACK
Up first is a set that was slated to actually come out way back in 2008, then seemingly destined to fade into the parking lot. However, the set was rescued and now it's coming as this special edition Comic Pack. Unlike previous Comic Packs, however, the entire package has been redesigned with the "Shadows of the Dark Side" color scheme and then inserted into a special slipcase box. The comic includes a repitn of the "Old Wounds" tale from Star Wars: Visionairies, which is kind of a "What If?" collection of stories that may or may not have taken place in the official continuity. Also included is a reprint of "Marked" from Star Wars Tales #24.

Here's a rundown on the figures included in the set:

Darth Maul (Cyborg):
Darth Maul (Cyborg)In the story, Darth Maul has been rebuilt as a cyborg, and he has tracked down Obi-Wan Kenobi across the galaxy for years, missing him at every turn, until finally catching up to him at the Lars homestead on Tatooine. This figure includes a great sculpt and articulation throughout, although the deco looks a bit rushed, and his tattoos are not as detailed as they are on other "shirtless" figures.

The lightsaber blades are also removable.

Owen Lars:
Owen LarsThis is "middle aged" Owen Lars and he has taken over the moisture farm and is watching over the young Luke Skywalker. But Obi-Wan is also watching him, from a distance.

This figure is an update for the character, brudging the gap between the TLC figure from 2008 and the POTF2 figure from 1997.

CONVENTION EXCLUSIVE 2-PACK - BOUNTY HUNTERS:
If you think the names are incorrect on these, you are wrong. Sort of...you may be unfamiliar with the legend behind these two characters, but fortunately, it's summarized on the side of the box for you. These figures are not only intentionally given each other's names as a nod to the classic Kenner mix-up, but they are also given the classic Kenner deco. So you get modern-style figures sporting the old-school color scheme...making for a very cool set.

Note that this set was also available at Jedi-Con back in April, but with a Jedi-Con sticker. This version will be available at Celebration V, and includes the official logo sticker on the slipcase.

"4-LOM":
''4-LOM''A repaint of last year's Zuckuss figure, but with a great material that is similar to the Kenner cloak. The color is a bit brighter than it should be to be a perfect match, but it still maintains the charm of the original.

''4-LOM'' (Kenner and TVC) Zuckuss and ''4-LOM''

"Zuckuss":
''Zuckuss''Another repainted figure that is curiously also included in the basic figure line for The Vintage Collection. The colors are a really close match, right down the red circle on the "nose".

CELEBRATION V EXCLUSIVE COMIC PACK
The final set of figures is another rescued Comic Pack that was slated for a 2008 release. Featuring characters in a cut scene from A New Hope, Camie & Fixer were childhood friends of Luke Skywalker & Biggs Darklighter. The Star Wars: Empire comic series partially adapted this scene in one of my personal favorite stories ever..."Darklighter", which told how Biggs went from Tatooine farmboy to Rebel pilot. The issue included here features all 4 characters from that cut scene, making a great excuse to bring these figures into the line.

Camie Marstrap:
Camie MarstrapThis figure captures the simple outfit of the character well, and there is a odd-looking alien pet that she's carrying, which is in the comic, but it's not identified.

This is also a "party Camie" figure...for those who know what that means. ;)

Laze "Fixer" Loneozner:
Laze ''Fixer'' LoneoznerFinally, here's Fixer...the hot-headed mechanic from Tatooine. The figure has a very detailed sculpt, includes with super-articulation and a blaster.

Stay tuned for more updates this weekend on the official Rebelscum.com Facebook page as I head back into the studio for more photos of these sets!
