Amazon.com has updated with a listing for The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia. There have been rumors of this book for the last four years or so, but this is the first concrete listing of the book, complete with a date of November 2008.

Hard to believe that the first edition of this book came out in 1998, ten years ago! That was before such online resources such as the Completely Unofficial Star Wars Encyclopedia and Wookieepedia. What will this new book offer? And more importantly, what will it have to leave out? There's definitely a ton of new information from the Expanded Universe, the Prequels and the Clone Wars, and we're looking for it to be here. I mean it does say "complete!"

Coming in at a whopping 800 pages (that's over twice as big as the first edition!) and $75, there's no doubt it's going to be chocked full of Star Warsy goodness. So, stay tuned for further updates as they become known.

UPDATE: Shortly after this was posted we got some further information from Steve Sansweet on the project. "The last time Amazon did this it was for a book that had been killed six months before. Pablo Hidalgo and I are working on a project together. Everything else--including the sole author credit--is either wrong or speculation. And it's too early to talk about right now." Allrighty, well we will be sure to get more information as it's available.
