Jimmy Mac from
The ForceCast sends in a detailed report on Steve Sansweet's
Star Wars Presentation from Chicago Comic-Con:
This evening, The 2009 Chicago Comic Con was treated to a fun and informative Star Wars presentation from Lucasfilm Manager of Fan Relations, Steve Sansweet. As expected, much of the material included the incredible trailers first shown at SDCC.
First out of the box was the video for
Star Wars: The Concert featuring great footage of the premiere in London earlier this summer. Steve announced that the tour will indeed stop in the Chicago area and other cities throughout the states. We can expect the tour itinerary to be announced in a couple weeks or so.
The audience was then treated to the trailer for the newest
The Force Unleashed DLC coming soon from LucasArts, followed by the amazing trailer for
The Old Republic MMO. This footage was met with the tremendous response that has accompanied previous public screenings at the Lucasfilm pavilion at SDCC.
Then Steve debuted a new video that showcased the history of
Star Wars fandom and the past Celebrations. This nice video featured material from all the Celebrations and ended with the new logo for
Celebration V spotlighting Boba Fett. Steve told the Chicago audience they were the first to see the logo outside Lucasfilm.
Then, star of
The Clone Wars, Tom Kane took the stage to participate in a great interview with Steve. The always affable Tom talked about voicing the iconic character Yoda, and discussed the feedback he received from George Lucas.
The presentation ended with a video replay of the wonderful
The Clone Wars table read from SDCC and the season 2 trailer.
Again, no big announcements or bombshells, but the crowd exited the presentation feeling excited for the future of
Star Wars. No question about that!
