Part of the Hasbro panel at Comic Con 03 was a great Question and Answer session. Below is most every question asked, along with the answers...

Hasbro Presentation Question and Answers:

Question:
Jedi Master Points? A: More on that later in the presentation...

Question:
When will we get a Blastek Rifle for Boba Fett? A: No plans in 2003.

Question:
Will we see more Ultimate 12" figures (Ultimate Jango type)? A: No plans in 2003 (sounds like something is brewing in '04 though).

Question:
Please address rumors of the Silver Boba Fett being available for Jedi Points. A: To be address later in the presentation.

Question:
How about more aggressive plan for releasing figures to stores. A: Inventory is the problem among retailers. This is out of Hasbro's control. Hasbro tries to help and influence retailers whenever possible.

Question:
Follow up to a previous questions - distribution is horrible! Case assortment is poorly planned, and the problem is escalating... A: Our mission is to sell product, obviously. Agaian, we are trying to help retailers wherever possible.

Question:
If cases were better planned, we'd be able to order whole cases online without too many repeats. A: The short answer is that this really has a lot to do with manufacturing, ramp-ups, etc. Very complicated. Stop by the booth and we'll talk...

Question:
Are you ever going to sell directly to consumers? A: We are a manufacturer only. No plans at the moment.

Question:
You mentioned earlier in the presentation that Jorg Sucal may be sold for Jedi Points. I thought that figure would never be sold outside C2! A: We're not actually selling this figure - we have extras to use for promotional usage. We will not actually be manufacturing more of this figure.

Question:
How about tapered lightsabers on the Unleashed figures? A: Matter of opinion. They already are kinda tapered. We are always looking to improve our toys though...

Question:
What new lightsabers will you be making? A: The latest saber is Yoda's. We are reshipping the Luke and Vader sabers. Nothing new this year after that.

Question:
What's the deal with the little lip that are on some of the bases of the figures? A: These were designed to interact - lock together and make little dioramas.

Question:
The Q1'o4 Wampa that was mentioned earlier in this presentation, will it be a new sculpt? Hard or soft plastic? A: It will be all new. We'll say right up front if something will be a resculpt.

Question:
Regarding the plan for the Jedi Master points you mentioned earlier in the presentation, what about the Jedi Master points on POTF line? A: Just Jedi Master Points, not to be confused with proof of purchase points or the Galoob points.

Question:
Fan's choice vehicle? A: We're running polls on the site to determine what fan's are interested in. Vehicles are always a possibility.

Question:
You mentioned earlier in the presentation that the Clone Wars Multipacks will not be sold at Walmart. Why not? A: What to retailers choose to buy is really up to the retailer buyer. Walmart simply chose not to carry the line. They'll of course still carry other figures, etc.

Question:
Are magnetic lightsabers going away? How about a magnet on the belt so you can clip it on? A: Great idea! The magnets aren't going away...

Question:
Will the number systems on the basic figures continue through the Clone Wars lines? A: Yes, numbering will continue through '04 and probably beyond.

Question:
Ephont Man is still in high demand. Will he ever return to store shelves? A: We already sold a ton of him and aware there is still demand. We are currently evaluating ways to get them to consumers.

Question:
How about a resculpt of the Falcon? A: Always a possibility. It was a popular vehicle produced back in 1996.

Question:
Any more figures based on the McQuarrie drawings? A: We're gonna wait and see how the upcoming Stormtrooper sells. Consumers will decide what we do based on how they spend their money.

Question:
Will the new Jabba the Hutt you mentioned earlier in the presentation be scale? Hard or soft plastic. A: See the Star Wars Insider #71!

Question:
How about a solid case of Fan's Choice figures? A: Uh, something can look into for the future, certainly...

Question:
What can the fans do about poor distribution? A: Talk to your retailers!

2014 STAR WARS Gift Guide
NEW IN THE PHOTO ARCHIVE:
Probe
Droid
Poll
Next September marks the twentieth anniversary of Hasbro's Kenner The Power Of The Force action figure collection. The line introduced a new generation of children to the wonderful world of Star Wars toys and ushered in the modern collectibles we all enjoy today. Our ever-inquisitive Probe Droid is actively searching all corners of the galaxy to find out if there is interest in products that commemorate this very significant 1995 release.
I'd be into a Hasbro The Lost Line style assortment
I'd love to see Gentle Giant make a Jumbo Kenner 1995 Luke Skywalker
I'm behind both of these ideas!
I got started in 1995, but I have no interest in such a concept.
It isn't for me.
