2009 Hasbro Fans' Choice Poll
has begun in our forums! It's once again time to rally around your favorite characters to see him/her/it immortalized in plastic.
As reported earlier, ToyFare #146 will feature a special follow-up report on the 2006 Fans' Choice Poll, reviewing the Top 25 characters and their status. Hasbro has done 20 characters over the years from this list, so it's easy to see how important the fan feedback is.
With thousands of characters to choose from, how can you pick just one? Here is how the new poll is planned to work:
1) All websites from the Q&A sessions will compile their RANKED top 30 character lists.
2) The lists will be submitted by Monday, August 24th.
3) All website lists will be combined and the characters ranked, in order for ToyFare magazine to determine the overall collector Top 30 characters. ToyFare #148 will reveal this list.
4) Then, WizardUniverse.com (ToyFare's parent website) will run the final poll to determine the overall winning character.
Hasbro will make one figure with the "Fans' Choice" designation, but the list can potentially lead to a few more years of great characters for them to work with.
The Rebelscum 2009 Hasbro Wishlist Poll has already determined our top 30 characters, determined in our forums over the past 6 months! But now that the stakes are even higher, we've opened up the polls one more time and let you vote again. Now we can definitely have some influence on future releases in the line!
After much discussion, we've gone through each character from our results, and done some logical eliminating. Since some of our finalists were just revealed to be coming, there's no reason to keep asking for them...Hasbro listened to us!
In addition, we've also eliminated characters that are either confirmed or hinted at in the Q&A sessions or in our rumor lists (hey, there's a reason we're keeping track of those after all!), and also removed characters that were potential kit-bashed figures or repaints, because this is a chance to a newly-sculpted figure, and we want to take full advantage of that.
Finally, there are certain characters that are well-known as being "off limits" per Lucasfilm itself, so voting for them is really a wasted vote.
With all of that in mind, we've taken the results from the Wishlist Poll and come up with a list of 100 characters from across the entire (well, almost) Star Wars saga!
Here are the characters to choose from in the Rebelscum.com Fans' Choice Poll. Remember that all characters from The Clone Wars (TCW) animated series will be made in the animated style, (and no doubt if the ultimate winner is an animated TCW character, it will be released in the animated TCW line).
