The Comic Packs have been hugley popular this year, bringing out more long-requested figures from both Marvel and Dark Horse than ever before, including some that are fan-favorites. The demand has been so great that Hasbro has come up with a few more sets that what was originally planned.
The latest wave is inspired from the Dark Horse Comics series, and we've got all the details on where yolu've seen these figure before.
No. 14 - Lt. Jundland & Deena ShanSpinning out of an issue of
Star Wars: Empire (a series that is set in between
A New Hope and
The Empire Strikes Back) comes an interesting set of figures. Luke Skywalker and Deena Shan infiltrate the Imperial base in the story. They go undercover in Imperial uniforms, and Luke adopts the name "Lt. Jundland". The figure itself is based on the Admiral ozzel figure, but now with Luke's head. The figure of Deena Shan is a repaint of Juno Eclipse. Not the most exciting set, but the storyline is really interesting.
No. 15 - Mouse & BassoAnother set of figures from
Star Wars: Empire, Mouse (a Duro, although the head of this figure is a Neimoidian...but I believe that these races are related somehow anyway) and Basso (a survivor from an earlier issue of the series) infiltrate the Imperial base disguised as a pair of Stormtroopers. This is another great army-building set for those that want to add a little variety to their displays, and since each figures comes with a removable helmet, they can join in with the rest of the troops.
No. 16 - Republic Commando & Super Battle DroidFrom a short story in the
Star Wars Tales comic series, this set is the first army builder comic pack! In the story, a squad of Republic Commandos take on a number of Super Battle Droids, so you'll need to get a few of these sets! Plus, customizers who want to create their own commando designs now have a blank canvas to work on.
Chewbacca & Han Solo
Grand Moff Tarkin & Stormtrooper
Luke Skywalker & R2-D2Speaking of troops, three of the early Comic Packs are being re-released, although with a few changes. The blue deco of the Stormtrooper figures (meant to recreate the coloring in the Marvel Comics series) has been removed, making the Stormtroopers look better. The other figures in these sets are the same deco. Of course, keeping with the these of these being based on the comic books, the eyes and mouths of the helmets are still painted red.
