Announced yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro will be releasing The Black Series Archive. Hasbro plans to announce four to eight previously released figures per year that will get a second run on a blister card. Candidates for a reissue will be hard-to-find figures, and figures with a high after-market price. Best of all, the photo real deco now used in the line will be applied to human faced characters moving forward, starting with the Luke Skywalker X-Wing Pilot. This will differentiate those figures from their first release.

The first four figures are X-Wing Luke, Boba Fett, Bossk, and IG-88. The release target for the first wave of the Black Series Archives is Q1, 2019 or more specifically, January 2019. Hasbro reps said they are most excited about this new line.
