So how 'micro' are the new Micro vehicles coming to Target this Spring? While many may have assumed these will simply be a retread of the old MicroMachines line, details in this latest image and those posted previously tell quite a different tale upon closer inspection. Comparing the current Micro images to the classic MicroMachine line many of the finer details simply don't line up. A closer match for these 'new' vehicles can actually be found in another MM source; one that many fans may have passed on.

Galoob's X-Ray Fleet was somewhat of an instant peg warmer. The initial sets in the line sat so long that follow up sets were near impossible to find. Target's Micro Vehicles appear to be based on those molds, and are actually more of a follow up to the JC Penny Exclusive Trilogy Gift Set from 1996.

It should be noted that the both the X-Ray Fleet and Trilogy Gift Set vehicles are the same scale as the Die-Cast MicroMachines, current slated for a comeback as Wal*Mart's Titanium Series. Look for more detail on this line right here at Rebelscum as they develop.
