- Star Wars dioramas from original trilogy
"The dioramas went on sale on Monday for 300 Yen each. They come boxed and nameless, so you don't know which ones you are getting! I so far have failed to nab C-3P0 and R2-D2, but have numerous walkers, Falcons, Vaders and an X-Wing. They are quite small; Vader is maybe 2 ½ inches tall, the Falcon about the same in length, but quite detailed and nicely set up on display stands. You also get some sweets to go with them!"
- Model kits! Produced by FineMold
"These kits are smaller than the ones usually available in the States, but for my money, much more detailed. Available are the X-Wing (2,400 Yen) and TIE Fighter (2,200 Yen) from the original trilogy, and Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter (2,500 Yen). Also, on the model page, you may be able to make out some Star Wars themed pens with figure-heads on top, which sell for 500 Yen each."
- New soft-vinyl kits
"Of Vader (9,800 Yen), Anakin Skywalker and a Clonetrooper (7,800 Yen each). The three shot picture is from the theatre programme sold at the movies."
- Stuffed toys, Jigsaws & Slide-Movies
"For the younger set, Star Wars stuffed toys (Ewok 4,000 Yen, Jawa 4,000 Yen), small jigsaw puzzles (Stormtrooper is featured; others are available for 350 Yen), and a Star Wars "Slide-movie" which shows scenes from the films (300 Yen)."
- R2-D2 Star Wars Kurohige
"Push utility arms into R2-D2's slots; one random slot will make Luke's lightsabre fly out, and that player loses. This is a variation on a tradition Japanese children's game called "Kurohige" or Black Beard, who is a pirate in a barrel. In the original, you push swords into slots in the barrel, but this is of course the Star Wars variation (4,800 Yen)."
- Darth Vader Star Wars Kurohige
"Another variation can be seen as well, this time using Darth Vader in his meditation chamber from Empire, into which you push lightsabres (2,480 Yen). Also on the Vader game scan are light-up accessories (980 Yen each) and small badges (100 Yen each from a random dispenser; you can't choose which ones you will get)."
- Miscellaneous Japanese Items
"On the last page of the programme booklet available in theatres showing Episode II, there are lots of little things you can buy at the theatre or order. It features notebooks, memo-pads, posters, holographic stickers, medals, mouse pads, key holders, pin badges, T-shirts, telephone cards, fans, caps, pens, telephone straps, letter sets, toe bags, and tapestry style posters.
- "Japanese Pepsi also have bottle caps (over 50; I'll never get them all as I am so sick of drinking the stuff!), and special Star Wars collectable cans (I suppose American Pepsi and Japanese Pepsi have different marketing deals). Check out the Japanese Pepsi site for the Star Wars goodies by clicking here."
