Rebel Scum readers Gretchen & Caribou are back with another update on the newest Star Wars/Disney collaboration:

"While visiting Disney's Magic Kingdom this weekend, we were pleasantly surprised to find an item we've been waiting almost two years to see. At the Disney presentation during Celebration IV one of the items they previewed was a lightsaber fashioned just for Jedi Mickey. What a great idea to continue the blending of Disney and Star Wars. Every time we've visited the Disney parks, we hoped we'd find one. This weekend we did.

The lightsaber looks and operates like any of the standard ones we've come to enjoy. Simply press the power button as you flick the hilt downward and the plastic blade extends, lights up blue, and the familiar hum of a lightsaber is heard. There are a few unique markings on the hilt to alert you that this lightsaber is meant for Jedi Mickey. The top of the hilt has three lines pointing toward the blade, very much like the markings on Mickey's gloves. The world-famous Mickey Ears are the power button. Right below the power button is a ring of Mickey Ears that goes completely around the hilt of the lightsaber.

So do we think it was worth the wait? You bet. It makes a great addition to any collection and what child wouldn't want to hold their own Jedi Mickey lightsaber. Hope you enjoy the pictures of this cool item. We've even included a picture from the Disney presentation at Celebration IV so you can compare the planned product with the final version.
