All of our "rebel spies" are working overtime today with the latest info sliced from the holonet. Keeping with the tradition of special "Ultimate Galactic Hunt" chase figures from recent years, we've gotten top-secret details of a special line of figures that collectors can track down when The Vintage Collection hits hard this summer.

Previous UGH chase variants have included silver versions of the mini-holograms from The Saga Collection in 2006, the gold coins from The 30th Anniversary Collection in 2007, and the "1st Day of Issue" sticker variants from The Legacy Collection in 2008.

Relying heavily on the nostalgia factor for the classic Vintage Star Wars line, this chase series features the modern-day action figure stylings, but now decked out with "Antique Force Detail"...a paint deco that is inspired by the classic color schemes of the Kenner toys.

In a year focused on collectors, longtime fans will no doubt fondly recall the toys from their youth as they view this special gallery, shown here for your viewing pleasure.

Let's take a look at the first wave of the "Antique Force Detail" line, which features figures from The Empire Strikes Back. Each figure stays true to the originals deco from 30 years ago, with a few "special modifications" made.

Series 1: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Boba Fett
  • Death Squad / Star Destroyer Commander
  • Imperial Officer
  • Ugnaught

For the second wave, the characters are based on Star Wars (better known now as A New Hope). There weren't a lot of reference photos saved during the first movie's production, so the Kenner artisans used their imagination to come up with the character's look and colors.

Original details are not overlooked, such as Luke Skywalker's yellow lightsaber (made in today's modern style), and a Jawa that includes both a vinyl cape and a bonus cloth cloak accessory!

    Series 2: Star Wars
  • Luke Skywalker
  • Han Solo
  • Power Droid
  • Jawa

Other figures celebrate The Empire Strikes Back with repaints from the basic figure line's first wave added in, shifted to later in the year after the initial cases have shipped, in order to avoid using the same production tools and character overlaps.

Like the upcoming Celebration V exclusive Zuckuss/4-LOM ("Four - El - Oh - Em") 2-pack, seeing modern-day updates to the Vintage line...right down to the original deco...is sure to be popular with fans.

Series 3: The Empire Strikes Back
  • Luke Skywalker (Bespin Fatiques)
  • Han Solo (Hoth Outfit)
  • Leia Organa (Hoth Outfit)
  • Twin Pod Cloud Car Pilot

Since this is a rumor list, take this all with a grain of salt, because it's not official, and may just be idle speculation. But that's part of the fun of being a fan, isn't it?
