The Lord of the Rings trilogy is held in high regard by many Star Wars fans. Their stories run parallel about good and evil, the light and the dark. Peter Jackson is to Lord of the Rings as George Lucas is to Star Wars. But New Line Cinema has announced they will be moving forward with prequel The Hobbit without director Jackson.

How could there be a cinematic Middle Earth without the love, devotion, and knowledge of Jackson and Weta Workshop? With the help of fans, perhaps New Line can be swayed to make whatever changes are necessary to retain Peter Jackson and his team for this production.

Here's what you can do:

1. Go to TheHobbitFilm.com and follow the directions for writing letters and postcards to the key players at New Line and other companies. A deluge of mail in favor of Jackson gets this issue right to the people involved.

2. Go to PetitionOnline.com and add your signature to the list of 50,000+ fans already joining the fight to save The Hobbit.

3. Forward this information to your fellow LOTR fans and have them do the same. Only a massive effort can change the mind of a mega-corporation such as New Line Cinema.
