I received this report today from a good friend in NYC . . .

Dustin, just thought I'd give you a review of last nights charity screening at the Zeigfeld and the after party at 21 Club.

Around 6pm. photographers and press started gunning for positions on the red carpet outside the Zeigfeld. Celebrities began showing up soon after, Constantine from American Idol, Christina Milian and entourage, the Gastineau Girls, Dan Akroyd and Donna Dixon with full brood in tow, Ray Park and Daniel Logan. There were other TV stars but I didn't know or catch their names. The film started at 7pm and the after party began at 9pm.

The after party was held at 21 Club on 52nd street and included most of the poeple that attended the screening. There were prints from the Vanity Fair photo shoot for auction, prices ranging from 300-1500.00 signed by the photographer and sometimes the subject (Natalie Portman, Rick McCallum etc...), a Master Replicas AT-AT starting at 1500.00, along with other various Star Wars items. After most of the guests had arrived, a few clone troopers as well as a *great* Chewie began walking the party. Chewie was a huge hit and everyone wanted a picture with him. The party lasted until 1am upon which everyone was given a gift bag. Included was : 1 ROTS comic book, 2 random BK deformed characters, 1 ROTS trading cards, 1 Rawcliffe pewter DV Keychain, 1 ROTS Booster Pack for the collectibles game, 1 ROTS soundtrack CD and 1 mini M+M's pack. Also included were various Children's Health Fund items such as a scratch pad and newsletter.

Back before the world wide web and social media ruled our shopping habits there was a long-established practice of driving around all the nearby toy stores to hunt down the latest releases. Obviously times have changed and online retail is far more important than it was twenty-five years ago - but has it killed the toy run? What was your shopping experience over the Triple Force Friday product launch weekend?
I managed to find everything I wanted in stores!
I found some but had to resort to big box websites to complete my haul.
I didn't bother stepping outside and ordered everything online.
I haven't bought any of the TFF product yet. Roll on clearance sales.
I'm waiting for the TV series/movie release before I commit.
I've so over it, no more Star Wars collecting for me.
