Rovio, the company behind the runaway hit mobile game Angry Birds, has launched a Tumblr page for the game, and this is the debut post:

Welcome to the Angry Birds Tumblr page. Over the next few weeks we’ll have behind-the-scenes content, animations, comics, and much, much more. But what will this all be about exactly?! Here’s a clue…

Times Square, New York, October 8th, 10am EST.

HINT: Head to Toys R Us at 8am EST!

That's all we have so far. We'll keep you posted as we learn more about this new installment in the Angry Birds saga.

UPDATE: Courtesy of Fast Company, we have some new information for you:

That Angry Bird shrouded in Jedi garb and wielding a light saber you might have seen on the Tumblr of Finnish startup Rovio? It’s a tease to a forthcoming mash-up between the two universes. Fast Company can confirm, via Lucasfilm, the production company behind the Star Wars franchise, that on Monday morning at the Toys R Us store in New York’s Times Square, Lucasfilm will announce a toy line to accompany Angry Birds Star Wars. The game casts the furious fowl as icons from the movies. And yes, Red Bird will be Luke Skywalker.

Next September marks the twentieth anniversary of Hasbro's Kenner The Power Of The Force action figure collection. The line introduced a new generation of children to the wonderful world of Star Wars toys and ushered in the modern collectibles we all enjoy today. Our ever-inquisitive Probe Droid is actively searching all corners of the galaxy to find out if there is interest in products that commemorate this very significant 1995 release.
I'd be into a Hasbro The Lost Line style assortment
I'd love to see Gentle Giant make a Jumbo Kenner 1995 Luke Skywalker
