Looks like Disney will be releasing several vinyl doll collectibles late this summer from Vinylmation. The website VinylNation.net has additional information and some great photos of what the characters will look like. Here's a snippet:

"Star Wars Series #1 is expected to debut at the Star Wars Celebration 5 convention in Orlando and will arrive at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort shortly after.

- C3PO
- R2D2
- Darth Vader
- Stormtrooper
- Han Solo
- Chewbacca
- Luke
- Leia
- Lando
- Yoda
- Boba Fett
- 9" Rex (from Star Tours)
- 9" Wampa (Tentative)

Special thanks to Mike C. for the heads up!

UPDATE: Scott S. did a little more research and discovered that the Vinylmation dolls will be blind boxed, that is, you don't know what character you're getting until you open the box. Read the email response below...

Here is a response Scott got from them when asked if he could a pre-order the Yoda.

Hi Scott,
The Star Wars series will be sold in a blind boxed tray of 24. You will not know which design is inside before you purchase the box. There is no way guarantee that your box contains the figure you would like.

Thanks,

*Jason*

What if Hasbro were to offer a new line of larger scale figures that put a focus on screen accuracy? The Probe Droid is curious if you'd walk away from the 3 3/4" line in favour of something new that catered more to adult collectors.
I'd be willing to start from scratch.
I'd be into it only if they were super articulated.
I'd only be into it if sculpt and silhouette were the main focus.
I might get a few, but I don't think I'm ready to start something new.
I'm only interested in 3 3/4" figures.
I don't collect the Hasbro stuff.
