TF2007: Gentle Giant Star Wars Mini-Busts

The mini-busts line by Gentle Giant continues this year with several new pieces. Princess Leia and Ben Kenobi from A New Hope, Jango Fett with removable helmet, and a two-pack of Jawas. One is tearing apart R5-D4's head (poor Skippy!) and the other will come with alternate weapons.

But the highlight was the number of exclusives that are planned...Chewbacca (now with gas mask), Coruscant Clone Trooper (with interchangeable head), Darth Malak (from KOTOR), and a number of clone commanders: Gree, Bly, Bacara, Cody (with light-up hologram), and Neyo.

Also in the works for later this year are Spirit Ben Kenobi and Yoda (both with light-up features), a Royal Guard, a Senate Guard, an R2-D2 (a statue really). (no pictures please.)

Finally, there will be a new line called Star Wars Classics, which will be somewhere between the mini-bust scale and the bust-ups scale. Only Kit Fisto and a TIE Fighter Pilot were shown, and they were very nicely done. More on this later in the year...

George Lucas has announced he's done making blockbuster feature films after Indiana Jones 5. He states that one of the factors that weighted heavy on the decision was the negative comments made by fans. The Probe Droid is curious what you think about that.
