The second wave for 2009 has been revealed, and it will be centered on characters from The Empire Strikes Back! This wave will also include a Build-A-Droid (B-A-D) series of what looks to be U-3PO and not HK-47, as had been previously reported. (Although interestingly enough, U-3PO WAS rumored to be part of this wave initially.)

This wave includes the following figures:
  • BD-38: Luke Skywalker
  • BD-39: Emperor Palpatine
  • BD-40: Captain Needa
  • BD-41: Princess Leia
  • BD-42: Hoth Rebel Trooper (Version 1)

Missing from this gallery are the Ugnaughts, who may or may not be a 2-pack. Previous information suggests this will be a running change between the two versions, but perhaps they will be packed together after all. Time will tell...

In addition, several figure from wave 1 will also be repackaged in this wave, complete with the new BAD accessories
  • BD-08: Darth Vader
  • BD-33: Jawa & WED Treadwell Droid
  • BD-34: Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi

And in case you aren't sick of them yet, here's one more chance to nab a "Greatest Hits" figure...with the new B-A-D part, of course!:
  • GH-02: Kashyyyk Trooper

And just for good measure, we've also got a nice pair of shots of the Trinto Duaba and Dice Ibegon set, which will be part of the A New Hope wave
  • BD-37: Trinto Duaba & Dice Ibegon

  • NEW IN THE PHOTO ARCHIVE:

Now that you've had your first look at Hasbro's 2013 San Diego Comic-Con exclusive Black Series Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite two pack, the Probe Droid is curious what you think of the set.
I'm attending SDCC and will certainly get this awesome set!
I'm attending SDCC but have no interest in this line.
I'm not attending SDCC but hope to get this awesome set somehow.
I'm not attending SDCC and have no interest in this line.
I'm undecided but interested in seeing it added to the Photo Archive.
I'm more vexed at why toy collecting news is suddenly exclusive to USA Today instead of a site I go to for my Star Wars news...
