If you've been out toy-hunting at all lately, you may have heard a similar story...new toys are being held back until March 24th, and many stores have been instructed to NOT sell them until that date.

Naturally, not every store followed this policy, as there have been reports of all kinds of new toys being found at K-Mart, KB Toys, Target, Toys "R" Us, and Wal-Mart stores across the country for the past few weeks. I've heard from several different store employees that they can't sell the toys until today, and if they do, then their suppliers won't restock them in the future. Still, this hasn't stopped many stores from getting the early sale.

But as the toys make their way to retailers across the country (usually starting in California and heading east), there have been a number of new Star Wars toys found. So many in fact, that you almost need a checklist to keep track of them all, right? Well, here at Rebelscum, we aim to please, so here's a rundown of what to keep an eye out for while you're toy hunting.

Basic Figures
__ 30-01: Darth Vader & 30th Anniversary Coin Album
__ 30-02: Galactic Marine
__ 30-03: Mustafar Lava Miner
__ 30-04: R2-D2
__ 30-05: Obi-Wan Kenobi
__ 30-06: Mace Windu
__ 30-07: Airborne Trooper
__ 30-08: Super Battle Droid
__ 30-09: Mcquarrie Signature Series - Concept Stormtrooper

The 30th Anniversary Collection is finally here! After a long delay, these new figures have been showing up sporadically for the past few weeks, but almost every store I went to today had them out in force. As you might expect, the clones sell out pretty quickly, and since the McQuarrie Concept Stormtrooper is one-per-case, that figure does as well. Obi-Wan kenobi and R2-D2 are the pegwarmers of the bunch, with Mace Windu a close second...although once the kids start getting into this line, you can expect them to move just as fast as the rest of the figures in this wave.

The Darth Vader & Coin Collector Album is getting good reviews, and I even "made a sale" today by pointing out to one perplexed mother that she will need to get the album to store all the coins in. ;)

Battle Packs
__ Battle of Geonosis
__ Capture of the Tantive IV
__ Jedi Training on Dagobah
__ Ambush on Ilum (Target Exclusive)
__ Betrayal on Felucia (Target Exclusive)
__ Treachery on Saleucami (Wal-Mart Exclusive)

While the majority of these battle packs have been out for months now, there's still plenty of them on shelves, because they've been restocked with the Capture of the Tantive IV set, which oddly enough is the fastest mover of the bunch. It's interesting to note that both of the Target-exclusive sets have been marked down and put on clearance. Prices may vary in your area, but you can expect to pay around $13.98 for each. Meanwhile, the Wal-Mart exclusive set is JUST starting to show up...expect that to be hard-to-find for a few weeks.

Order 66 2-Packs
__ 1 of 6: Emperor and Commander Thire
__ 2 of 6: Mace Windu and Galactic Marine
__ 3 of 6: Darth Vader and Commander Bow
__ 4 of 6: Obi-Wan Kenobi and Utapau AT-RT Driver
__ 5 of 6: Anakin Skywalker and Airborne Trooper
__ 6 of 6: Yoda and Kashyyyk Trooper

For ten bucks, you get 2 figures (a repack and a repaint) in a totally tubular package. Not a bad deal, really...if you can find them! Since these are just starting to hit, and in very small numbers, expect to come up empty-handed. One interesting piece of info I've been hearing lately is that the release date for these sets ISN'T 3/24 after all, but rather 4/1..or maybe 4/8. It wouldn't hurt to check your local stores, but expect to be disappointed for now.

Vehicles
__ Darth Vader's Sith Starfighter
__ Hailfire Droid
__ TIE Fighter
__ Saesee Tiin's Jedi Starfighter
__ Sith Infiltrator
__ Trade Federation Armored Assault Tank (AAT)
__ V-Wing Starfighter

Once again, most of these ships have been out for awhile now, and although most are repaints, they sell pretty quickly. But the exciting news is that the 2 NEW vehicles (Sith Infiltrator and V-Wing Starfighter, if you didn't know) are hitting stores now, but as with anything new in Star Wars, they sell out within hours after they are put out on the shelves. But don't worry....there are more coming.

Role Play
__ Clone Trooper Blaster
__ Rebel Trooper Blaster
These brightly-colored role play weapons may not be on every collectors' hit list, but the kids love them! And with the new foam darts added to them now, it may be worth checking them out...they're lots of fun.

Galactic Heroes
__ Princess Leia (Boushh disguise) & Han Solo
__ Luke Skywalker & Darth Vader
__ Royal Guard & Imperial Gunner
__ Ponda Baba & Snaggletooth

There's another wave of the super-cute 2-packs of figures starting to hit stores. These tend to stay on the pegs a little bit longer than action figures, but not much more! With each wave and each year, these little guys are getting more and more popular with kids of all ages....especially now that they've got company from other licenses.

Titanium Series
__ Firespray Interceptor
__ Imperial Attack Cruiser
__ Jabba's Sail Barge
__ Luke's Snowspeeder
__ Battlestar Pegasus
__ Classic Cylon Raider

Also just starting to hit stores is a new wave of the 3" die-cast vehicles. This is an interesting assortment, with 3 repainted ships and 3 new ships...2 are from another franchise, but the Classic Cylon Raider is SO VERY COOL. I lucked out and found a full set today, so look for an update to our Photo Archive coming soon.

In the end, it wasn't a really big day for Star Wars. But if you're a fan of other toy lines like Spider-Man 3 or Pirates of the Caribbean, oh you had a great day today! But if you want to hear about those toy lines, you'll have to check out part 2 of this report, over at CoolToyReview.com.
